Some progress on the new LazPlanet website.Preparing the transfer of old
blogspot blog to
gitlab.io. Hopefully we can keep everything within the FOSS ecosystem.
Transfer is almost done. The issue is that some formatting got messed up during the transfer process. So fixing them in
formatting-fix
branch. Comment system also needs some work. Currently it's not working.
We're transferring into a
Hexo blog format. GitLab repo is
here if you want to have a look. The pros of having it on GitLab is that the blog basically stays available no matter what, plus you can fork the project and work with it. Having all the articles in text files (markdown files to be exact), fork-able and open is a huge advantage when it comes to programming resources.
Text files are easy to parse, easy to handle or modify and easy to track. They can even be transferred into any other system if anyone wants to. We can also receive contributions from the community too and discuss any needed changes within the our source repo system, just like programmers do, which is amazing.
Good thing is that the search is working with PHP, with a
script I wrote, run through adnan360.com and the articles pretty much came out ok. Will be a lot better once formatting-fix is done.
